One of the biggest challenges a beginning painter will face is learning to paint flesh tones. The skin is highly complex, made up of varying colors and textures; if you get one thing wrong, you could end up with some pretty scary results.

I just had a moment of freaking out trying to find an old youtube channel that was full of super legit art tutorials— I’d lost the link to it eons ago— and then performed some excellent google-fu and found it again!
FZDSCHOOL is full of tons of super high-quality super helpful tutorials and demonstrations of art stuff, like character design and environment design and digital painting. Also the whole thing is on youtube so it’s all free!
I haven’t checked out a lot of their videos— last time I was aware of the channel, I only took time to watch one of the lessons, which was on designing & painting a sci-fi interior set intended for use in a videogame, but it was really interesting and informative. I’ve been itching for more art education lately and I’m super glad I managed to find this again, so I figured I’d share it.

taking a break from drawing what i’m supposed to to draw old characters.
she’s the Goddess of Bloody Corners, half of a set of gods ruling over the ‘fight’ and ‘flight’ reflexes respectively.
she basically rules over all the fights you know you’re going to lose but instead of accepting the inevitable you go ‘FUCK YOU I’M TAKING YOU DOWN WITH ME’ and proceed to, if not win, make whatever is after you go ‘oh god why is this happening why is this happening?????’
she’s constantly wounded but feels no pain. she walks with a very pronounced limp, carries no weapons, has no official followers and in general tends to look like pretty easy prey for both mortal and divine predators. her familiar is a bloody wolf skin that always seems to be grinning like it’s in on some really funny inside joke.
when she fights it starts to laugh.
she dyes her hair with the blood of her enemies.
this is her relaxed and not ready to pull something much bigger than her’s spine out.
